The centre has developed two Telemedicine applications Sanjeevani and e-Sanjeevani.
Sanjeevani is deployed at AIIMS New Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, SGPGI Lucknow, PGI
Rohtak, IGMC Shimla and SCB Cuttack. e-Sanjeevani is being launched shortly. |

Sanjeevani is the next step in the evolution of Telehealth that
allows healthcare professionals to perform live and interactive medical examinations
on patients in remote locations. The sanjeevani System includes videoconferencing,
integrated diagnostic devices, and a complete management application for managing
patient data. The sanjeevani system provides hospitals with a secure, flexible,
and user-friendly tool that allows clinicians to maintain a high quality of care
for remote patients while also improving resource management and reducing costs.

e-Sanjeevani is a result of core R&D effort in the area Health
informatics at C-DAC Mohali. It is a web based solution and follows the client server
architecture. Asp.net technology has been used to develop this application. The
aim has been to provide a world-class telemedicine technology solution for providing
multi specialty healthcare at an affordable cost at the doorstep of the patient. This
web based client server application is platform independent and can be accessed
by any client satisfying the authentication constraints. Only a browser which is
available on all operating systems is needed at the clients’ end. This telemedicine
application uses forms authentication for the purpose of security. Every hospital
that intends to use this application will be provided with an administrative level
user name and password. The administrator need not be a computer knowledgeable individual.
His /her duty will only be confined to creation of user names and passwords for the
doctors employed in their hospital. Only the administrator is allowed to create
accounts for doctors for security reasons. The user information passwords have been
stored in encrypted form in the database table carrying user's information.
